WITH 64 days to go until Christmas, High Wycombe’s festive lights have been put up in the town centre.

The lights were put up on Wednesday afternoon.

It comes as details for this year’s Christmas lights switch-on were revealed.

The town centre will be transformed into a festive wonderland for the special event which marks the launch of the Christmas season on November 15.

And a special guest appearance will be made by Dan Budd - Shine Like a Star contestant and the UK’s number one Robbie Williams tribute act.

From 4pm, the town centre will feature festive food and street entertainment and the popular children’s rides will return once again.

This year will also feature a Christmas-themed market - and there will be mulled wine and mince pies on offer to get visitors in the festive spirit.

The switch on will start from 6.45pm.

A number of roads around the town centre will be shut all day to allow for the festivities.

Church Street, Church Square, Cornmarket, Frogmoor, High Street, Oxford Street, Queens Square, White Hart Street will all be shut from 7am to 7pm and shop owners are being advised to warn customers and delivery drivers to make alternative arrangements.

Last year, the Christmas season was kicked off by star Wycombe Wanderers player Adebayo Akinfenwa, who flicked the switch on the town’s lights.
