A WOMAN who died following an accident with a car in Gunnersbury Avenue, Ealing, last Tuesday (2) has been named as Mary Forde, 60, from Ealing.

The collision occurred at the junction with Leopold Road, London’s Air Ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital with critical injuries but died the following day.

Mary’s family paid tribute to her this week.

In a statement, they said she was born in 1958 in Castleblayney, Co Monaghan. In 1979, she moved to England to join her sister, Mairead, and extended family in West Ealing, Northfields and Hanwell.

She became a leading staff member with the family-run business, Montagu Nurses, based in Marylebone. Later, she became landlady of the Sir Colin Campbell pub in Kilburn.

“Mary made a full recovery from cancer this year after a difficult fight,” said the statement. “She was a strong and determined woman who battled against all adversity.

“She was due to move to a new home the week she died. She was looking forward to the future and moving on with her life. She was in a happy place and was loved by all.”

She was one of ten siblings, with an extended family and a large circle of friends in the Kilburn and Ealing areas.

“She will be eternally missed by all,” said the statement.

Police would particularly like to speak to a motorcy clist and an Uber driver who stopped at the scene.

The driver of the blue Vauxhall Astra involved in the collision also stopped and there has been no arrest.
