A drug dealer found with £1.2 million in cocaine has been jailed for nine years.

Stuart Reid, 31, from Grange Road in Harrow, was imprisoned at the Old Bailey on Friday after he was found with 12 kilos of the drug.

Reid was arrested by the joint National Crime Agency and Met Police Organised Crime Partnership.

He was stopped in his car on the North Circular Road in Ilford on August 1, by the Met’s automatic number plate recognition team following a request by the Organised Crime Partnership.

Police found 12 blocks of cocaine wrapped in brown paper on the back seat with a street value of £1.2 million.

Reid pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs at an earlier hearing.

Matt McMillan, National Crime Agency operations manager, said: “Disrupting the supply of Class A drugs is crucial in our efforts to tackle organised crime and the violence it causes in and around London.

“We will actively target drug dealers like Reid who are involved in serious and organised crime including the distribution of illicit drugs which blight the lives of so many, lead to further criminality and fuels violence and exploitation.”
