VIP guest: John McDonnell at an iftar
HAYES Muslim Centre in Pump Lane won the award for Best Elderly Services at the first Beacon Mosques initiative held by Faith Associates consultancy on Saturday.
Beacon Mosque Standards is a worldwide accreditation system for mosques, which are measured against standards of best practice.
Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell, the MP for Hayes and Harlington, attended a Faith Associates open iftar (evening meal) during Ramadan this year and highlighted the outreach work of the mosque.
