DERWENTWATER Primary School in Shakespeare Road, Acton, invited Rupa Huq MP to celebrate the launch of a new project, the Conversation Club.
The project, which started in June, received more than £6,000 of National Lottery funding to bring together parents of different cultural and language backgrounds, to help them learn and communicate better in English.
The school was presented with a cheque to ensure the Conversation Club continues to help parents throughout the year.

The celebrations continued as Rupa Huq presented end-of-term certificates to parents for their achievements so far.
Parents say they're excited to be a part of the sessions and have already learned a variety of new words, which they are now using on people outside the school circle.
The MP said: “I am particularly pleased the classes have proved so popular with Arabic-speaking parents. I look forward to seeing the benefits in years to come.”
