A man arrested for grievous bodily harm was placed under further arrest for shouting racial abuse and spitting at a police officer.
Police were called to Pinner Grove in Harrow at around 6.20am yesterday after reports of a fight.
Upon arrival they discovered a 60-year-old man with head injuries. Shortly after that a 31-year-old man was arrested nearby.
It is not known if the two men knew each other. The 60-year-old man was taken to hospital with none life-threatening injuries.
The arrested man was taken to a police station where it is reported he became “aggressive” shouting “racial slurs” and spitting at a police officer.
He was arrested for these offences and it was later discovered he is also wanted for failure to appear in court.
Police enquiries continue.
