NOMINATIONS are now open for the Ealing Broadway Reading Heroes competition which celebrates children from the borough who have gone above and beyond to help or inspire others through reading.
The competition, now in its second year, asks parents, guardians, teachers, families and friends to nominate a child under the age of 12.
Ealing Broadway launched the competition as part of the Young Readers Programme – an initiative by the National Literacy Trust.
Reading Heroes will be judged by a panel of representatives from Ealing Broadway and the trust, with the winner receiving £150 of National Book Tokens, £50 for the child to spend and £100 for the school library.

A runner-up will receive a copy of David Walliams’ best-selling children’s novel, The Midnight Gang.
Nominations can be made via the Ealing Broadway website before July 23.
Children from Woodlands Academy, Drayton Green Primary School and Oaklands Primary School took part in a range of literacy-themed workshops culminating in a visit to Ealing Broadway, where they enjoyed a group storytelling session as well as educational activities.
