A RANGE of charities in Hillingdon and beyond have benefited from a bequest in the will of Keith McBride, a mason who died in 2016.
It has taken two years to untangle the will as a legacy of £66,200 was for the ‘Royal Union Charity Association’, which did not appear to exist.
Eventually, a link was made with the Royal Union Lodge, oldest surviving lodge in the Province of Middlesex, and the legacy could be distributed.

Lodge delegates have had the opportunity in the last three months to visit the charities and make presentations to them.
Those benefiting are Help For Heroes, the HAY Centre at Hanworth, Thames Hospice at Bray, near Maidenhead, the National Autistic Society, Alzheimer’s Society, Harlington Hospice in St Peter’s Way and Michael Sobell Hospice at Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood.
