CONSTRUCTION of 26 new homes for social rent on a vacant canalside site in Southall is about to begin.
The site is adjacent to the Havelock estate, which developer Catalyst is regenerating in partnership with Ealing Council.
The site, currently Toplocks Depot, will provide a link between existing neighbourhoods, with improved access roads and parking.

Catalyst is also providing a footbridge over the adjacent dock, creating a new pedestrian and cycle link to the Havelock estate.
The scheme will include new landscaping, green roofs on a number of the new homes and a central green with a play space. Catalyst will also plant an orchard in the nearby Glade Lane Canalside Park.
