DETECTIVES are appealing for anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of a stolen Rolex watch after an 87-year old woman was burgled in Northolt on Thursday (15).

At around midday there was a knock on the victim's door. She opened it to find a man in navy work overalls.

He said he was in the area checking for water leaks in people's houses and insisted he checked the property.

He went into the kitchen and bathroom before leaving.

He is described as a white man, aged 60-65 and around six foot tall. He spoke in an English accent.

Det Con Andrew Vyvyan said: "Following this incident, the victim feels very unsafe in her own home and has lost trust in everyone.

"The watch was given to her by her late husband as a present in April 1979 and it's of extreme sentimental value. Although the cash was also stolen, it's the watch we really want to return."

Anyone who may know about the watch is asked to call 0208 721 7110. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
