GIRLS and staff at Northwood College for Girls jumped at the chance to help generate funds for Sport Relief.
They took up a challenge set by the Girls’ Day School Trust for its 25 schools to run a combined total of 25,000 miles, roughly the circumference of the Earth.
They are determined to run at least one mile each this week, enabling the whole school to reach its target of running the equivalent of 1,000 miles by the time the bell rings on Friday.

With 840 pupils taking part, the school has dedicated all its scheduled PE lessons to the task and has set a schedule of lunchtime activities, including a staff dodgeball tournament, swimathon and zumbathon - all of which will add distance to the target total.
Each girl has made a donation to Sport Relief to take part and a group of brave girls aged 3-15 launched the campaign on Monday morning by jogging around the snowy hockey pitch.
