MORE than160 dancers aged 5-17 from St Benedict’s in Ealing performed in A Night at the Movies – a dance extravaganza inspired by film.
The choreography was quirky, imaginative and fun, and demanded lots of energy and drama from St Benedict’s dancers. It was a vibrant production, with colourful costumes and lighting creating a spectacle on stage.
Junior School dancers swirled buckets and brooms in a scene from Annie. For Grease, they became high school kids from the 1950s, followed by sharp-suited gangsters and flapper girls in Bugsy Malone.
There was a charming, cane-swinging tribute to cheeky Charlie Chaplin, and a black-caped whoosh through Batman, while the youngest dancers, aged five, made cute Trolls.

The Senior School programme opened with a jazz-dance interpretation of The Lion King, complete with African drumming, followed by The Wizard of Oz, Hairspray and La La Land.
Dancers also tap-danced their way through Singing in the Rain. A beautiful interpretation of Ghost, the 1990 romantic fantasy thriller, demonstrated emotional range and technical skill.
The show was choreographed and produced by Stephanie Parker.
