ABLE Seaman Diver Dave Kerrigan, 30, has just completed specialist clearance diver training at the Defence Diving School in Portsmouth.
He received his certificate and diving log from guest of honour Capt Rob Vitali, CO of HMS Collingwood.
Dave was also presented with the Top Fin trophy, awarded to the best overall student.
Originally from Southall, he joined the Royal Navy specifically to become a clearance diver, despite most of his family going into the Army.
The ex-Featherstone High School student has enjoyed playing rugby during his course and is also interested in snowboarding.

Dave is looking forward to completing his sea time during his next draft at Portsmouth and says that completing his 60-metre dive was a course highlight.
During the graduation event, the newly-qualified divers put on a ‘real life’ display for visiting families and friends to demonstrate the challenges they will face.
Navy divers are currently serving in a variety of theatres, including Afghanistan.
They will initially be employed at either Faslane in Scotland or in Portsmouth and will support worldwide operations.
