Anchor, the largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for older people in England, has taken over the service, which supports 4,500 tenants, the majority of whom are over 55.

The Hillingdon contract will lead to 12 more posts being created.

Graeme Hall, Anchor’s head of customer service, said: “This is the first time we have bid to provide an out-of-hours service for older people living with other organisations.”
