A FORMER stray from Dogs Trust Harefield, has a new life that suits him to a tee.

Four-year-old crossbreed Ben didn’t have the best start in life, but he is on course to be ‘yappy’ ever after with golfing greenkeeper Adam Smith, from Oxford.

Ben accompanies Adam to work every day at a golf club in High Wycombe.

Adam, 25, said: “Ben has become a fantastic companion and settled in very fast.

“When I first adopted him in September, I was ill with shingles and he has helped me as much as I have helped him! We spent time together bonding, watching daytime TV and snuggled up under the duvet.

“With continued training, he has now figured out that dogs can be his friends and he loves getting attention from the ladies on the golfing green, as well as riding around with me on the golf buggies!

“He is a great character to work with and he knows not to pick up the balls up as we know golf balls can be dangerous for dogs.”

Richard Moore, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Harefield, said: “It sounds like he’s got a hole in one with his new owner! I’m sure he thoroughly enjoys going to work with him on the golfing greens.”
