A WEEK after the murder of a Greenford man in Southall, the charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information that leads to the conviction of the person or people responsible.

Khalid Abdi Farah, 26, was shot dead as he sat in the driver’s seat of his hire car outside a parade of shops at 480 Lady Margaret Road around 1.20am on Saturday, November 11.

The gunman came out of a black-coloured VW Tiguan car that had parked beside Mr Farah’s vehicle, approached him and fired through the open passenger window.

A passenger with Mr Farah managed to escape uninjured.  The victim was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington but, despite the efforts of emergency services, he died within a few hours.

Roger Critchell, Director of Operations at Crimestoppers, said: “This tragic and brutal murder has left a family heartbroken and desperate for answers.

“There is no reason or motivation that we know about for his killing and we are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact us 100 per cent anonymously.

“We won’t judge you, ask any of your personal details, and you’ll never have to speak to police. Together, with your help, we can ensure Khalid’s family receives the answers they deserve - so please, speak to us.”

If you have any information on Khalid Farah’s murder, call 0800 555 111 or through the non-traceable Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org

DETECTIVES investigating the murder will revisit the scene a week on from the attack to appeal for further witnesses.

They will be in the area of Lady Margaret Road from late on Friday (17) into the early hours of Saturday.

Det Chief Insp Andy Partridge, leading the investigation, is appealing specifically about a first generation black VW Tiguan SUV thought to have been used in the attack.

Later that day, at around 8pm, a black VW Tiguan was found burnt out in Knowles Close, West Drayton.

DCI Partridge said: "We believe it was the car used by the suspects who shot Khalid. This car had been stolen from the Uxbridge area on October 15 and was using cloned plates between then and Khalid's murder.

"I am making a very specific request for assistance from the public who live in the Southall and West Drayton areas  for sightings of the Tiguan bearing the cloned plates 'VK 61 EEG'.

"Our work indicates this car was being used and stored around these areas during that time.

"Additionally, I want to appeal to petrol station retailers in those areas about transactions that took place on November 11 in the 17 hours between Khalid's murder and the car being found burnt out.

“I am particularly keen to hear about anyone who purchased petrol directly into a green petrol container - they may even have purchased the container at the same time as buying the fuel.

"A family has been left devastated by Khalid's murder and I would urge anyone who has information that could assist this investigation, please call police or Crimestoppers."
