“We know a black vehicle, probably an SUV-type, pulled up beside the Ford Focus the victim was sat in outside some shops in Lady Margaret Road.

“An occupant of the SUV then approached the victim on foot and fired directly into the car. The SUV and left the scene at speed.

“The route taken away from the scene has been identified as along Lady Margaret Road towards the Ruislip Road and then along the Parkway heading towards the M4.

“This route is always busy and it is possible that the manner and speed in which this vehicle was being driven shortly after 01.23 attracted the attention of other motorists.

“It may even be that this car has been captured by motorists with ‘dash cameras’ fitted. If anyone can assist with sightings or footage, I urge them to contact my team.”
