HILLINGDON Mencap students Brett Franklin, 24, Adam Thomas, 30 and Shane McKenzie, 26, have completed DJ training with Bug Beats at Botwell Green leisure centre, Hayes.
Now, they will be showing off their skills and sharing their music with friends and family on
Monday, October 30, at the Angel pub, Hayes End, 7-10pm.
DJ Neil, of Bug Beats, who ran the 10-week free course, said: “These students went from trying to putting on a record to expressing themselves with their music, which is amazing.

“I would love to run another free course but would have to try to seek some funding to buy more equipment.
“Teaching DJ-ing with records is not easy. Preparation, listening, cueing, holding and placing of the record and volume control are not easy tasks for someone with learning disabilities.
"The students went from well out of their comfort zone to expressing their love for music by playing their favourite records in 10 weeks.”
