Ian Holloway is wary of being branded favourites for their upcoming clash against Burton Albion.

The R’s are looking to extend their unbeaten home form this season against a resurgent Albion side.

After a 3-2 defeat at Middlesbrough last week, Holloway will want to build on the positive start his team made.

“We notoriously aren’t very good if we’re favourites,” Holloway said. “And I don’t make us favourites for this, I see every game as the same.

“I don’t think you can say ahead of any game that we should win it because the teams are so close in the Championship.

“We have got a very tough game on our hands but we are in good form at home and I want to get back to winning ways if we can.”

Rangers, who have not beaten Burton in their last three competitive meetings, will be hopeful Jordan Cousins will return to strengthen the midfield, whilst Nedum Onuoha and James Perch are still out injured.

Burton, often marked as the EFL's overachievers, will be looking for a repeat of their 2-1 victory over QPR last season.

Despite strong performances from the “new lads” in Holloway’s squad, he could revert to more faimilar faces, with the manager facing a tough decision upfront.

Conor Washington, Jamie Mackie and Matt Smith are all staking their claim, with Smith looking for more game time.

“It’s frustrating because all strikers want to be playing but I’m sure I’ll be given plenty more opportunities as the season progresses,” Holloway added.

“If we can get three points this weekend it pushes us back up towards where we want to be.

“If we don’t get them, then it makes the next game harder. And it makes the next game more important.”
