An exciting new transport initiative has launched at Stockley Park with the aim to support and encourage businesses on the park to adopt and promote sustainable transport initiatives by offering staff discounts on public transport, cycling discounts, salary sacrifice schemes, journey sharing and much more.

easitSTOCKLEY Park is the most recent addition to The Queens Award-winning easitNETWORK group, a ‘not for profit’ enterprise that has been successfully working with over 200 of the main employers in the South East since 2005, to identify and introduce carbon reduction strategies based around the needs of the businesses themselves.

By encouraging behavioural changes to more intelligent car use and modal switches to public transport, walking and cycling, the scheme aims to reduce pollution and increase satisfaction within the staff base.

In addition, the scheme will also support businesses based at Stockley Park with their own environmental targets and commitments.

Pieter Borchardt, Park Director at Stockley Park said: “We are excited about this new project. It is a real step forward in sustainable commuting and it is great to be able to offer this award-winning, not-for-profit scheme to all the employees on our park.”

easit CEO, Dr Mel Mehmet MBE said: “We are delighted to be working with Stockley Park on this new project. Our objective is to identify and provide solutions to transport issues based on what employers and employees are prepared to adopt and so bring about positive changes.

"There now exists a growing awareness of the need to change our travel behaviour in order to reduce our carbon footprint and help towards the global fight against climate change.”

David Brough, Chairman of Hayes Town Partnership, said: “This is excellent news. Companies at Stockley Park have led the way in so many fields over the years and it is great to hear that they are now working together with an expert organisation in order to encourage staff out of their cars.

"Not only does this have enormous potential to improve the local environment, there is clear evidence of the health benefits for individuals from more walking and cycling.”

easitSTOCKLEY PARK is FREE to join for businesses based on the park. If you would like to become a member or would like more information please contact info@easit.org.uk or telephone 01306 886677.
