An alcohol-free street food festival is coming to London.

Street Eats festival, whose host company Halal Gems was founded by Harrow resident Zohra Khaku, will launch in Old Spitalfields Market on July 28-29 with family activities, live music and unlimited free entry.

Along with an alcohol-free bar, all the food will be halal and served by traders including Blue Top Ice Cream, Oli Baba's Halloumi Fries and Stacked Dutch Pancakes.

Ms Khaku said: "It's so hard to find somewhere to hang out in London on a Friday or Saturday night that isn’t overwhelmingly based around alcohol.

"We wanted to create a space for people to enjoy themselves, the music, the atmosphere and most importantly the food, while feeling safe and having a great time."

Street Eats will also partner with charity Penny Appeal's Feed Our World campaign and will ask people to donate for those who live in food poverty around the world, while any leftovers on the day will be given to local shelters.
