Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after a teenager has been left fighting for his life following a stabbing.

Police were called at 22:24hrs on Tuesday, 13 June to reports of a number of men armed with knives in Yeading Lane, Hayes.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. A search of the area was carried out and officers found a 17-year-old-male with stab injuries in Dunedin Way.

He was taken to a central London hospital in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

A short time later an 18-year-old man self-presented at a west London hospital with minor stab injuries.

He received treatment and was arrested shortly before 01:00hrs on Wednesday, 14 June on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken to a west London police station where he remains in custody.

Detectives from Hillingdon CID are investigating and are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Claire Hine from Hillingdon CID said: "This is a serious incident that has left a young man fighting for his life.

"We are anxious to trace any potential witnesses as soon as possible so they can help us piece together what happened. If you know anything please contact us."
