The University of West London has achieved the biggest rise of any UK higher education institution in The Complete University Guide 2018, climbing 26 places to 80th position in the independent national league table of universities released today.

UWL achieved increased scores across a range of quality measures including student satisfaction, graduate prospects, percentage of graduates awarded a First or 2:1 grade, degree completion, spending on academic services and facilities spend – the latter being the second highest spend in the UK.

University vice chancellor professor Peter John said: "Recording the biggest rise in the UK in The Complete University Guide 2018 rankings is another excellent achievement for the University.

"It is testament to our ambitious and well executed strategic plan which is underpinned by investment in infrastructure, academic staff and our curriculum, all of which is reflected positively in the quality of our teaching."

The University of West London has recently invested more than £120m across three campus sites located in Ealing, Brentford and Reading.

These latest results in The Complete University Guide build upon the University’s strong performance in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017, in which UWL climbed 37 places.

UWL also received two nominations in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2017 (THELMAs), in the categories of ‘Outstanding Leadership and Management Team’ and ‘Outstanding Strategic Planning Team’.
