Detectives have released CCTV images of two men in a bid to identify them following a violent assault in Hounslow.

On Saturday, March 25 at about 10 past 10 in the evening, the 62-year-old-victim was returning home from an evening out in Hounslow.

He was waiting at a bus stop on Grove Road in Hounslow, opposite the Treaty Centre, when he was approached by a man who launched an unprovoked attack.

The victim was pushed to the ground and his attacker proceeded to repeatedly stamp on his head.

This vicious attack caused fractures to the victim's eye sockets, cheek bones and nose; he also sustained a broken jaw and required surgery.

The victim has since been discharged from hospital, but he will require further medical treatment.

After the assault, the assailant casually walked off onto Bell Road, in the direction of Hanworth Road.

The suspect is described as Asian, aged between 18 and 25 years old, with short black hair that was shaved sides. He was wearing a black hooded top and black tracksuit trousers.

He was in the company of a second man who did not taken part in the assault. He is described as white and aged in his early 20s; police would like to speak to him as a material witness.

Detective Constable Craig Boosey, from Hounslow Borough, said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack, in which a man, aged in his 60s, was savagely beaten and left lying on the street with extensive facial injuries.

"I would ask the public to contact me if they recognise the person who may have been responsible, or have any other information about this assault. Your information may be vital in identifying those responsible. "
