Ruislip Dramatic Society will be bringing one of the most celebrated Ealing comedies to the Compass Theatre.
The group will be performing The Ladykillers, the award-winning stage version of the classic Ealing Studios film adapted by Graham Linehan, creator of The IT Crowd and Father Ted.
The Ladykillers tells the tale of a sweet innocent old lady, alone in her home, pitted against a gang of criminal misfits who will stop at nothing.
Posing as amateur musicians, Professor Marcus and his gang wish to rent a room for their rehearsals in Mrs. Wilberforce’s slowly subsiding house in King’s Cross.
But they are not all they seem and are actually master-minding a robbery!
The Ladykillers was a West End hit which broke box office records and received 5 Olivier Award nominations as well as the Whatsonstage.com award for Best New Comedy in 2013.
Following its original run at the Gielgud Theatre, it returned to the West End for a second run this time at the Vaudeville Theatre after a UK tour.
Linehan’s adaptation aims to capture the spirit of the original film whilst also adding some brilliantly fun extras for the stage outing.
The play will show from 17-20 May 2017 at 7.45pm with a matinee on Saturday 20 May at 2.30pm.
The Compass Theatre is on Glebe Avenue in Ickenham.
Tickets cost £12 or £11 for concessions.
