Two brothers aged 11 and 15 will trek across the world’s tallest mountain in memory of their grand-uncle.

Sechan and Luxman Chandrasekaram, from Chiswick, are climbing the base camp of Mount Everest, in Nepal, next month to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice, in High Road, Harrow.

The hospice cared for their grand-uncle Sivaumar Sangarapillai, who died of cancer in November 2016.

The boys say they have been “avid trekkers” from a very young age and have already climbed the Alps and Brecon Beacons, as well as running a 5km race to raise money for other charities.

Sechan said: “Our uncle always encouraged us to do charity work and he believed it was the backbone of humanity.

“We hope to raise much needed money to help the charity that helped him.”
