A new springtime basketball camp for children is taking place in April at a Hillingdon school.

Boys and girls aged 8-18 are invited to attend the four day camp at Douay Martyrs School, beginning on April 10 and will be held in the sports hall.

The school aims to encourage active participation by children from the borough and in particular to create a fun and enjoyable time during the school holidays.

Although there will be lots of learning of basketball drills and fundamentals the programme will also be teaching young people how to play competitively as part of a team, with matches and shooting competitions.

Anyone is welcome to come along whether or not they have played basketball before.

Pete Deppisch, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Brunel University, will be leading the camp.

Coach Pete has been at Brunel for over ten years coaching the men’s first team for the national inter university British Universities and Colleges Sports competitions.
