AUDIENCE participation was at an all-time high as Stephen K Amos hosted Ealing Comedy Festival last week.

The thought of getting on a stage and making people laugh will put fear in most of us, but all of the acts made it look easy.

The Cirque du Soleil ambiance created an intimate feel and the performers used this to interact with the entire audience.

Surprisingly, very few acts touched upon the big current affairs issues of late — not even the low blow of England’s poor performance at the Euros.

Mr Amos did briefly mention the b-word (Brexit..ssh), but in a light-hearted way as to not upset the crowd.

The two female performers, Jo Caulfield and Mandy Knight, commanded the stage and had the audience in fits.

Veteran Bob Mills took over the stage with his love of everything British — including the weather — and his annoyance with social media.

Other acts such as Tim Clarke, Dan Nightingale and Pete Firman did extremely well, making the host’s job very easy.

The Ealing Summer Festival will run until July 22 and tickets can be purchased on line at: www.ealingsummerfestivals.com
