AN EALING Catholic school was rated outstanding in all areas in a diocesan inspection report out this week.

The Diocese of Westminster said senior leaders and governors at St Augustine’s Priory effectively promoted Catholic life.

They gave the top grade to the independent school for girls, on Hillcrest Road, when they inspected it on May 5-6.

Headteacher Sarah Raffray said: “We are delighted that the school has received a ringing endorsement of all that we know is true about St Augustine’s.

“We are especially pleased that the inspectors recognised our success in achieving our ambitious vision and values.”

Inspectors noted their fundraising efforts in the Bridge for Nepal £1 project, and collecting for Homeless in Hanwell and Calais refugees.

Lisa McDermott, faith life faculty leader, said: “I am so proud of all the girls and our wonderful RE team.”

The report reads: “The RE leadership team have devoted much time and energy to improving the quality of teaching and learning since the last inspection.

“Leaders are highly-skilled practitioners who by precept and example model excellent classroom practice.

“They have high aspirations which focus on pupils’ achievement, the deepening of their faith, including their spiritual and moral development.”
