A BAR in Hanwell has had its premises licence revoked following complaints of noise.

A number of residents living nearby to Ryan’s Bar on Boston Road had complained.

Ealing Council’s licensing sub-committee made the decision last week after hearing from the council’s regulatory services response team, whose application was supported by the police licensing team.

Councillor Ranjit Dheer, cabinet member for safety, culture and community services, said: “The council and the police work hard to assist businesses to improve their performance and comply with licensing regulations.

"But there comes a point where we must put the wellbeing of the wider community first and take tougher measures to protect them against persistent anti-social behaviour.

"The number of noise complaints against this business meant there was no option other than to revoke the licence.”

Ryan’s Bar was given 21 days to appeal the decision - and can continue to trade under its existing premises licence during this time.

Sergeant Graham Edwards, from Ealing Police licensing team, said: "We worked quickly and closely with the council to address the issues as soon as we recognised the venue was becoming problematic.

"The measures put in place will improve the quality of life for the residents and visitors to the area.”
