LEGO is coming to Hanwell Library in Cherington Road.

The new LEGO Education programme will be launched there on Saturday, July 25, from 2.30-4.30pm to introduce residents to its resources and technology.

Ealing children are invited to the launch and be the first to use the new resources, but parents need to e-mail ccslegoealing@carillionservices.co.uk

The programme allows them them to develop their understanding of computing, design and technology, science, maths and languages.

The launch is the first step in introducing LEGO in Ealing libraries, and in September LEGO Clubs will be introduced across the borough for children of eight and above.

There will be a small charge to join the clubs, but children can first attend a free LEGO taster session in the summer holidays.

The sessions are in all parts of the borough, with details of locations and dates on www.ccslibraries.com/legoeducationealing

Cllr Ranjit Dheer, cabinet member for community services, said: “LEGO has been keeping people of all ages entertained since the 1940s. It is an excellent hands-on tool for developing problem-solving skills and encouraging creative play.”
