PEOPLE aged between 16 and 24 are invited to become involved with a unique gardening project called Growing Space, taking place on Friday afternoons at the Young Adults’ Centre, Southall.
Between May and September, the London-based charity, Green Corridor, will work with young people to transform the garden at the rear of the building.
The plan is to change the space from its existing lawn and shrubs into landscaped allotments.
In return for their work, the volunteers will have real work experience to add to their CVs and also the opportunity to gain a formal horticultural qualification.
The project has just started and those interested can drop in between 1 and 3 on Fridays all through the summer, to find out more about what is involved.
The Young Adult Centre is in Park View Road, Southall, UB1 3HJ. To find out more, contact Esmay Bear (ebear@ealing.gov.uk) or Jeff Campbell (campbellje@ealing.gov.uk)
