EALING Southall remains a safe Labour seat after Virendra Sharma claimed an expected General Election victory.
Mr Sharma won comfortably from Conservative James Symes. He has held the seat since 2007, when he won a by-election after the death of Piara Khabra.

Mr Sharma is a fierce opponent of the proposed closure of Ealing Hospital’s maternity unit.
During his time in Parliament, he has voted strongly against a reduction in spending on welfare benefits.
