A FORMER bulimic is launching her first book that recounts her experience at Waterstones in her hometown of Ealing tomorrow (Saturday).
Nancy Tucker, 21, is showcasing The Time in Between, a memoir detailing her battle with eating disorders, at the store in Ealing Broadway Centre, from 2pm.
Her story drew praise from The Sunday Times and Dame Jacqueline Wilson, who replied to Nancy’s letter when she was just a little girl.
Dame Jacqueline said: “This isn't just another anorexia misery memoir - it's a work of literature.”
Her obsession with weight-loss began when she was nine, when her class was asked what they wanted most in life.
She replied: “I want to be thin.”
Nancy spent time in hospital and struggled at school but is now on the road to recovery. She has earned a place at Oxford to study experimental psychology.
