EALING Coffee Festival began today (Sunday) in the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre.
Monkshood Coffee ran a series of seminars and talks – including demonstrations and samples – on topics such as the origins of chocolate, the use of coffee beans and Chinese tea.
Elliot Wallis, 39, offered a presentation on the art of espresso, giving his tips on how to make yourself the perfect cup or shot.
He said: “We want to raise awareness of the higher end and artisan part of the coffee industry.
“Ealing is quite good for that. There are two or three nice coffee shops.”
The event aims to promote independent coffee outlets, where Elliot believes there is a greater appreciation of coffee as it can be traced back to a point of origin.
Children also got involved by adding their artistic contributions to the festival mural, which was painted at lunchtime and hung up for the day.
