THE Band of the Coldstream Guards will perform a free concert for students of London College of Music, part of the University of West London, as well as the general public this Thursday (March 5).
It takes place at St Mary’s Church, Ealing, at 7.30pm.
Conducted by Director of Music Major Darren Wolfendale, the band will perform favourites, including Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue which will feature LCM’s Dr Emilie Capulet on piano.
Simon Rigby, Senior Lecturer at LCM, will conduct LCM Camerata, an ensemble choir of students that specialises in baroque and classical orchestral music.
The Coldstream is one of the oldest regiments in the British Army in continuous active service and was founded by General George Monck in 1650.
As part of their duties, they also contribute to world-famous ceremonial occasions such as Changing of the Guard and Trooping the Colour.
Tickets for this event are free. Reserve your seat by e-mailing lcmlive@uwl.ac.uk.
