GOOD causes in Ealing benefited by more than £2.4m in National Lottery funding last year.

Across the borough, 45 grants were awarded, helping arts, sports and heritage projects as well as community groups.

Grants were awarded to a wide range of projects in 2014, including:

• £490,000 towards the redevelopment of Pitzhanger Manor House and Gallery

• £50,000 to Ramgarhia Sports and Social Club for the development of Durdans Park, Southall, as its new cricket club

• £10,000 to Southfield Primary School in Bedford Park for outdoor play equipment.

These projects, or any organisation that has ever received Lottery funding, have the possibility of gaining national recognition by entering the National Lottery Awards for 2015.

John Barrowman, presenter of last year’s National Lottery Awards show, said: “Every Lottery player should feel proud of the incredible difference they are making to the community.

"They raise an astonishing £33m every week for a huge variety of life-changing projects.”

The National Lottery Awards have seven categories, to reflect the range of areas the Lottery funds: Sport, Heritage, Arts, Environment, Health, Education and Voluntary/Charity.

Winners of the National Lottery Awards will receive a £2,000 cash prize and national recognition at a ceremony broadcast on BBC One this year.

If you want to nominate a favourite project or enter your own project in this year’s National Lottery Awards, visit www.nationallotteryawards.org.uk or call 0207 293 3599 to find out more.
