CHILDREN’S charity The NSPCC is looking for people in Ealing to take part in a challenge with a difference – and help raise vital funds for children and young people.
Chasing the Sun involves a bike, hike and canoe in the stunning surroundings of the Lake District, all between sunrise and sunset on May 30.
The challenge starts at the crack of dawn, beginning with mountain biking in Grizedale Forest (approx 25 miles), before taking to the water for a three-mile kayak on Lake Coniston.
The final challenge is a trek up and down the Old Man of Coniston (803 metres) to enjoy its spectacular views of the surrounding mountains (approx nine miles).
The aim is to complete all three challenges before sunset.
Christian Morris, NSPCC fund-raising manager, said: "This is an exciting event in some of the most picturesque surroundings in the UK.
"Hiking, kayaking and cycling are some of the best ways to explore the Lake District too!
“I would urge anyone who fancies a challenge with a difference to sign up so we can continue to raise vital funds for services which offer a lifeline to children and young people in Ealing.”
This event is designed for teams of two, but individual registrations are also being accepted.
To enter, people need to commit to registration fee of £39 per person and minimum sponsorship of £350 per person.
