A BRAVE schoolboy, who has overcome gruelling cancer treatment, was a guest of honour at a visit to 10 Downing Street on Tuesday.
Ethan Doyle, 8, of Ealing Park Gardens, was joined by 20 other young cancer sufferers at a reception hosted by Samantha Cameron to launch Cancer Research UK’s fundraising campaign, Kids and Teens.
Ethan, who attends Little Ealing Primary School, was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in November 2011 and has been treated at Great Ormond Street.
His mum, Sarah Lindsey, said: “Ethan has endured his treatment with unbelievable strength and resilience. I couldn’t be prouder of him.”
“Going to 10 Downing Street was an unforgettable experience.”
An array of celebrities accompanied the youngsters, including Peter Andre and fiancée Emily MacDonagh, presenters Kirstie Allsopp, Charlotte Hawkins, Donna Air and Sara Cox.
Kirstie Allsopp said: “I can’t imagine what it must be like to receive the devastating news that your child has cancer. No child should have to face it.”
The Kids and Teens campaign aims to raise money for research into kinder treatments for children with cancer.
