A NORTHOLT brother and sister have moved in next door to each other, thanks to a shared ownership scheme, Network Living.

Marcin Stylski and Barbara Stylska moved into neighbouring flats in Mandeville Place after struggling to find affordable housing.

They were keen to move out of their family home nearby but didn’t want to rent.

With house prices in the capital notoriously high, home ownership was not an option, but they were thrilled to discover they could use shared ownership to get on the property ladder.

The pair were delighted to have independent space of their own, though close enough that they can pop in and see each other.

Barbara purchased a 75% share of her home for £119,625 (full market value £159,500), while Marcin bought 35% of his home for £58,450 (full market value £167,000) with both requiring a minimum deposit of 5%.

Barbara said: “It’s exciting to see the project unfold in front of my eyes. There’s already a strong community feel here.”

Marcin said: “Shared ownership is a ‘win-win’ situation. I can finally say I am on the property ladder and, should I ever wish to sell my share in this property, the increase in its market value over time might mean that I’d have enough to put down a deposit on a home I can 100% call my own!”
