EALING Half Marathon organisers have announced Alzheimer’s Society as the headline charity for a second year.

The race, which will take place on Sunday, September 27, is known for its community support. It was voted Best Half Marathon at The Running Awards 2014 and is a firm fixture in the autumn running calendar.

Alzheimer's Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.

Race Director Kelvin Walker said: “We feel as passionate about charity fund-raising and giving something back as we do about running. The race is a fantastic platform for Alzheimer’s Society to raise funds and awareness, and we are proud to support them.”

A total of 8,000 places are available for this year’s arce, with entry costing £34 for affiliated runners and £36 for unaffiliated.

All finishers receive a medal and online e-goody bag and they get entered into a draw to win a Mercedes bike. The route remains unchanged for 2015, taking the runners around Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephens before crossing the finish line in Lammas Park.
