THE London College of Music, part of the University of West London, has announced a year-long partnership with the world-renowned English Chamber Orchestra. The link will also contribute to dementia research.
They will join forces to create an ensemble-in-residence made up of leading chamber orchestra members working closely with students.
The partnership will include placements in the Chamber Orchestra’s music library, as well as master classes, rehearsals and orchestral coaching.
Students will also be able to contribute to research into the potential of music in combating dementia, as the college and orchestra are putting together a series of workshops with Arts 4 Dementia.
Members of the public can attend the two lunchtime concerts in February and April, in addition to a composers’ workshop given by members of the ECO.
