An EALING comedienne will see six months of hard work pay off this evening (Thursday) when her comedy series debuts online.

Charlotte Cooper-Garcha’s Tour Girls has finally come to fruition after the £3,000 needed to fund the project was raised through a successful Kickstarter campaign.

The series documents the ordinary lives of three fictional London tour guides, Ashleigh, Karen and Scarlet, in an unpredictable, deadpan and witty style.

The six 10-minute episodes are inspired by real events and focus on the humour of what Charlotte, a part-time tour guide for two years, says is a very tough job.

As an actor specialising in comedy, Charlotte, 21, said: “It’s so boring when you get sent scripts about so and so crying into her ice cream.

“Female parts in comedy seem to be quite dull and often revolve around relationships, so I wanted to create something where a character actually chooses her job over her relationship and to make the comedic situation about that.”

Support for the show was drummed up through actors, friends and family, and the Kickstarter money has been spent largely on the hire of a tour bus, which cost £500 a day.

The Tour Girls cast and crew, all friends and professional acquaintances of Charlotte’s, gave their time for free, shooting the series over six days in late September.

Charlotte said: “It was so stressful, the hours were so long and it was really good that we were all friends or we’d have been killing each other!”

Viewers can expect the show to feature some bizarre and hilarious events, a few well-known London landmarks and some less familiar spots, such as Charlotte's flat.

“It’s been my life for the last six months and I really, really believe in it,” she said. “Now, it’s time to see if other people do.”

You can catch Tour Girls at 7.30pm tonight (December 11) on www.tourgirls.london
