EALING Broadway Shopping Centre and the Ealing Half Marathon team are teaming up to host a 2km run with a Hallowe’en twist to raise money for charity.

Jog On 2k takes place this Thursday (Oct 30) and is part of the centre’s safer trick-or-treat initiative, to raise funds for the Log Cabin, an Ealing charity that provides a safe play area for children with disabilities.

The spooky run requires volunteers to dress as zombies, to scare runners across the finish line, and qualify for the best costume prize.

Runners, who are also encouraged to dress up, can enjoy a warm-up session with Virgin Active’s zombie Zumba class before running through the shopping centre’s basement, where frights and thrills await.

The Hallowe’en initiative continues on Friday, 11am-6pm, when children can enjoy face painting, spooky entertainment and treats.

Lucy Thomas, marketing manager for the shopping centre, said: “We can’t wait to see the centre full of Halloween fancy dress and children enjoying themselves in a safe environment.”

Entry for the run is £7.50, with race times at 7pm, 7.20 and 7.40.
