AN Ealing Times reader has raised more than £500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust by climbing Ben Nevis.

Gini Moore reached the summit of Britain’s highest mountain during an 11-mile trek, which lasted eight hours.

Gini, a lecturer, said: “I was pushed to my limits completing this challenge, both mentally and physically, but all in all it was a great experience to be a part of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust trekkers team.”

“My descent was a bit of a struggle because I was quite tired and you have to be careful not to lose your footing,” she said.

“Carrying a very heavy rucksack, which had my kit inside, was also a challenge.”

She raised a total of £526.25 and hopes her efforts will help raise awareness of CF, which affects more than 100,000 people in the UK.

The inspiration behind her climb was nephew, Bradley, 21, who has suffered from the genetic disease since he was a baby.
