IN this solo exhibition at the Pitzhanger Manor House and Gallery, photographer and senior lecturer Carol Hudson examines objects left behind by death.

Exploring the history of life through the details of personal possessions, Hudson’s black-and-white photography focuses on recognisable objects and their power to evoke memories through the “emotional frisson of touching something that once belonged”.

Her series of photographs documents the possessions of her late husband, including a pair of old boots, a shaving brush, a camera case, a notebook and a pair of old glasses.

The exhibition has its final showing this Sunday. The gallery can be found in Walpole Park, Mattock Lane, Ealing.
