FREE books are being handed out to children at Ealing Central Library tomorrow (Saturday).
Copies of the children’s book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney, will be given away from 9am-5pm.
It is part of a national campaign to get parents and teachers helping 11-year-olds to read well. Read On, Get On, is supported by the Reading Agency and publishers Puffin.
Ealing Central Library is one of 200 around the country that will be taking part in the giveaway.
A report, published by Read On, Get On, estimates that helping under-11s to read well will lead to greater national prosperity.
There will be activity sheets for children, as well as 50 copies of the book, to be given away on a first-come basis, with a maximum of one copy per child.
