ST Augustine’s Priory in Hillcrest Road, Ealing, reported impressive A-level results.
As an example, 83% of history candidates achieved A* or A.
All Upper Sixth pupils who entered the challenging Extended Project option achieved A* to B. This research-based, independent work project, under supervision of a teacher acting as a “university tutor”, is considered by universities to be an outstanding preparation for academic work.
A total of 32 students sat A-level courses this year over a range of subjects including classics. More than a third of grades were A* or A, matching last year’s excellent results.
Nearly 70% of pupils achieved A*-B inthree or more subjects, an increase on last year. Nearly 90% of grades were A*-C.
Individual successes included: Lillian Babayan (3 A grades) who will study geography at UCL, Rebecca Graham (1 A*, 1 A* in EPQ, and 2 A grades) who goes on to University of East Anglia’s English and creative writing course and April Rassam, who goes to St. George’s to study medicine with 2 As and 1 B.
Tara Delargy, the deputy head girl (A*, A & B) goes on to Leeds University to study geography.
Sarah Raffray, head teacher at St Augustine’s, said: “Many congratulations are due to this successful group of students leaving the school as impressive, cultured women who have tasted success across a broad range of skills and disciplines.”
