REPAIRS to a burst water main in The Mall, Ealing will continue today, after it burst yesterday (Sunday) causing flooding and loss of water to thousands of homes across the borough.
The Mall remains closed to east-bound traffic, towards Acton, and vehicles are being diverted via the Haven Green one-way system.
Lanes are now open to traffic heading west-bound towards West Ealing.
People who need to travel through the area are advised to consider alternative routes and check the TFL journey planner.
Some traders who were closed yesterday, including some shops inside the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre, have not been able to re-open yet today.
M&S has been trading since early this morning, while other shops in the High Street, on the north side of The Mall, have also re-opened.
Affected business have been advised to contact Thames Water for further information. Council officers have leafleted premises in the area.
Thousands of homes in the borough were affected yesterday and many were left without water for several hours.
To restore water to affected homes and businesses Thames Water diverted supplies to the area.
Any residents who are experiencing problems with their water are advised to contact Thames Water on 0845 920 0800.
Council staff took part in the emergency response, including liaising with Thames Water, businesses and providing updates via social media to residents.
Teams also took part in the clean-up and repair operation to try to get the area back to normal as quickly as possible.
