POLICE investigating burglaries at a number of churches and a vicarage in Richmond, Ealing and Kensington-Chelsea are appealing for information on the whereabouts of 46-year-old David Spencer.
Officers would like to speak to Spencer, of no fixed address, about five offences at religious buildings and a building site during June and July, as well as older cases dating back to April 2014.
A burglary took place at a renovation site in Montpelier Road, Ealing, between 5pm and 8am on the weekend of June 14-16. A number of power tools, valued at £840 were stolen.
Other offences were at St Andrew’s Church, Ham, Barn Church, All Hallows Vicarage, Twickenham, and Holy Trinity, Sloane Street.
Police patrols around churches have been increased and officers are advising a number of church managers on building security.
Det Chief Insp Clare Murray said: “These churches have been systematically broken into and collection money stolen from inside. We would like David Spencer to contact us, or if someone has information on his whereabouts, please tell us.”
If you can help, call Richmond CID on 020 8721 5932 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
